Today, Year 5 were visited by Lip Li, a Chinese artist who specialises in origami. Origami is the art of paper folding, and Year 5 were making jungle animals as part of our Musical Showcase theme, The Jungle Book. Lots of very careful and precise folding took place to create a range of different animals - the most popular being elephants!

This week's champion reads so much that she has been described as a 'walking, talking dictionary' by one member of our class!

As part of our week exploring the faith of Islam, Year 5 have been learning about some of the different beliefs and festivals that Muslims celebrate. One of those has been Eid - the celebration of fast-breaking at the end of Ramadan. Year 5 used the traditional Islamic art style of mosaics to represent the celebratory themes of Eid. As well as showing great teamwork, their design s were creative and also included some traditional Islamic symbols alongside magnificent colours.
