On a glorious Monday morning, Year 5 finished their work with Bike-it Ben with a bike ride to Watergate Park! Using all of the skills Ben has taught us, we managed to navigate the hills and trails (mostly!) safely, and had an enormous amount of fun along the way. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers and most importantly Ben for helping us have a great morning in the sunshine!
Inspired by the following video, we used the I Can Animate app to create our own versions of the pencil animation.
After getting to grips with the difficulties of keeping the camera steady and our hands out of the way, we created some very creative and innovative animations - some of which you can see below. Stay tuned for more productions in the future!
Today we Just Danced our way to complete our 40 minute sponsored Lenten fundraising challenge. Many shapes were thrown and moves busted to a range of songs from Bieber and Ghostbusters to Rick Astley and Elvis. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported us - the money will be combined with the rest of the fundraising which took place this week in school, and go towards the CAFOD Refugee Crisis Appeal.
For the second day in a row, Y5 were lucky to have experts work with their class. Today it was SPARK Science, and we investigated our own DNA and Chemiluminescence. As you can see from the pictures, the afternoon gave us an enormous amount of fun, thinking and learning. You know it has been a great session when dressing up as scientists was the fourth most exciting part!
Today we were very fortunate to work with More Than Dance to help us prepare for three liturgical dances to share with our community during Holy Week. As well as sharing their dancing expertise, they helped us to really understand the Passion story and show this in our dances. We owe a HUGE thank you to More Than Dance and we owe ourselves a big well done for our hard work! Check out the videos to practise the dances in preparation for Holy Week!
