On a rainy Friday in December, head to toe in waterproofs, Year 2 embarked on their first forest school session with Mrs Recchia. They had a fantastic time finding sticks, making a stick man and to top it all off had some warming hot chocolate. We can't wait for the next session. What fun!

The Discovery Museum

The children of Year 2 had an amazing time at the Discovery Museum. We found out about Newcastle in the past and the amazing Great Fire of Gateshead and Newcastle. Have you ever heard of the events of that tragic day? Year 2 can tell you all about it. They particularly enjoyed the workshop led by the museum, especiallyputting on a puppet show at the end to tell the story of the Great Fire of Gateshead and Newcastle.

STEM Week

Year 2 have had an amazing STEM week. They thoroughly enjoyed the  experiments led by the fabulous Green Shift Education scientists. Year 2 found out about how to create a tall tower using just spaghetti and marsh mallows.
