The boy's 5-a-side team took part in the finals night which they qualified for three weeks ago. Playing against the best teams in Gateshead, the boys truly lived up to our focuses this week - showing resilience and having a positive mindset. The football on show from all teams was of an exceptional standard and our boys played in the exact way you would expect from a St Mary's team - with passion, teamwork, sportsmanship and skill. Super effort boys!

The world was born into the dimension wherein team sports, such as football, are valued more often than any other individual sport. Apart from the value of teamwork and cooperation that are instilled into the minds of each member, team sports teach a lot of different lessons. Football, for instance, gives us an understanding that no matter how many times you fall to the ground, you must always go up and continue to struggle in order to achieve success in life and eventually score your goal. Football is one of the best sports in the whole world. I am a sports fan and I love football. Hats off to these young kids. I always believe that these boys are defined for bigger things! By the way, football is a sport that thought me a lot of things about life. Just like any other sports, there were cloudy days wherein victory isn't always within there reach. But we should never settle for it. What we should do is to stand up and empower ourselves by telling ourselves that we can do it this time; that failing once again is still possible but we are more empowered now.
