Freedom Week

27/10/2017

Although the right to 'freedom' is not on the UNCRC, here at St Mary's we recognise that upholding people's rights give them freedom. There are only a few people in history who have done this more successfully than Dr Martin Luther King. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of his visit to Newcastle University, the whole school focused on what it means to be free. Throughout the week, we have realised that freedom is the right that is a result of upholding all of the others, and we have been inspired by the life of Martin Luther King to bring freedom to others both inside and outside of school.
