This week was National Storytelling week and to celebrate this event in St Mary's Primary School they invited people from the community to come into the classroom and read a story to the children.

On Thursday, Nora Earl, the local lollipop lady and her husband Frank came in to read to Year 5 and Reception class. Nora read the Gruffalo because it's one of her favourite stories.

The other teachers invited other people to read to their classes and the children really enjoyed the experience, now they will take the message home that its good to listen to stories.Mrs Kelly, who used to teach at St Mary's read her favourite story to Year 4.

Mrs Turner read stories and poems from Roald Dahl to Year 3. She read these because they are funny and her own children liked to listen to them.Mrs Turner.JPG
