Year 4 children had a visit to the Newcastle Media Offices on Tuesday this week and were so inspired many now want to be journalists when they grow up!
Sam and Jamie writing their own front page article
The children found out how hard it was to work to deadlines in order to have their front page ready for the end of the visit.
They had to write up their story, then edit the story, import a picture and put in the headline. They had to listen hard and follow lots of instructions in order to do this but after working on the stories so hard in school it was worth it to see them printed on to a front page spread of the St Mary's News.
Looking very closely to choose the correct file to add to the newspaper article.
Watching the finished newspapers being bundled together and transported along the conveyor belt straight to the van outside.
Completing our day with a sit down in the office!
A big thank you to Mrs Williamson and Mrs Cochrane who accompanied the children on our visit.
