Year 2 have been very, very busy this half term and so has Peter the Puffin!
The children in Y2 have been learning all about Katie Morag and her life in the Highlands of Scotland in their geography lessons.

Peter has been going home with them to experience life in Whickham and then reports back his findings to Y2 and to Katie Morag in a letter. He seems to really enjoy football training and playing with peoples pets. He even goes out for dinner and seems to be a regular at Dinos! We have also learned about Mary Seacole, the famous nurse and at the moment are really enjoying reading books by the author Anthony Browne. We love his illustrations and are very good at using different accents to read the stories.
In numeracy we have been learning what different maths words mean and this is helping us to become fantastic mathematicians. In literacy we are also using connectives and exciting adjectives to make our writing sparkle.

That's my Buddy from when i was in St Mary's, Thought I would take a little look back at all the Memories I had at St Mary's! Missing St Mary's so much, I wish I could come back for another year, It would be Awesome! -Lauren Porteous
