We were invited to St Mary's Heritage Centre to see how the Tudors celebrated Christmas.
First we set off to visit Bessie Surtees House and were lucky to see The Swing Bridge opening.

We eventually reached Bessie Surtees house where we were greeted at the door with some lemon cake then shown the beautiful rooms and some traditonal artefacts. We listened to traditional music and sampled some games that the children played at that time.

After a lot of exploration we returned to St Mary's Heritage Centre and practised some Tudor dancing then finished off by making pomanders to take home and make our homes smell nice.
