Year 5 go to the movies...

Year 5 have been working really hard on their Film Narrative unit of work after being inspired by Aidan Gibbons' short film, "The Piano".

We have learned that all films are produced taking in to account the 'Four Cs' of Character, Camera, Colour and Composition. We drew our own film stills, recorded voiceovers and edited our movies about the life of James from Roald Dahl's "James and the Giant Peach".

Here are the finished short films.

I think Mr. Wheatley is a great teacher for teaching his pupils this, and I think that he chose the correct film to show them, as I have seen the short film "The Piano" and I found it very inspiring. I especially liked Joseph R and Andrew C 's film and I liked the music they chose. My favourite picture in Joseph R and Andrew C 's film has got to be the one with the rhino in I really like the small zoo he put in the background with footsteps in it.

Having listened to all of the podcasts I think the WHOLE class did fantastic work and they all sound great. It is impossible to say that anyone did better than anyone else and they all deserve credit. Thanks to Mr Wheatley for a great experience for the class. :-)
