Wow!

St Mary's RC Primary School in Whickham have gone down in history. We are the first school in history to do the double in the Catholic cup comeptitions.
We have won the girls competition (Northern Cross Cup) for the first time in the schools history! All of the staff are so proud of the girls and think this is a massive achievement. The win was made all the better as the final was held at St Mary's with a large gathering of staff and parents watching.

Well done to the squad: Laura Kelly (GK), Amanda Norman, Lauren Porteous, Beth McMorrow, Emily Thompson, Shannon Richardson, Rebecca Jamieson and Stephanie Booth.

We also won the Bishop Cunningham cup at St Stephen's Longbenton the following evening. The boys team won a very hard fought competiion involving some excellent teams. Exceptional performances from everyone. Ben Harrison lifted the trophy on a sunny afternoon to the delight of staff and parents.

Well done to the squad: Josh Murdy, Ben Harrison, Harry Young, Oliver Walters, Andrew Latimer, Connor Gibson, Lewis Syron, Luke Pani and Jack Knight.

A big well done also goes to three Year 5 pupils who will be representing Chester Le Street district next year. Luke Pani and Jack Knight will be in the boys 11- A- Side team, and Emily Thompson (who has already been doing it this year) will be on the girls team. Congratulations.
