Little Bear in Winter
The Reception children have been learning facts about different kinds of bears -ask them if they can remember 3 or more facts!
Each week we have looked at different types of bears. Polar -Grizzly -Panda -Koala and Teddy Bears. We know so much now! What they like to eat -where they come from -why the Polar Bears have round ears and how many digits the Panda Bear has!
We have a history display showing bears now and then, what is similar/different.
The children brought in their Teddy Bears from home and they are hanging on our washing line with name labels on them.
We have made repeating patterns with the bear game and done lots of counting.
We have made observational paintings - learned about sketching -used collage -and even made rockets for Little Bear.
The children made a giant pot of porridge with Mrs Beard which the children loved -We called them goldilocks because they ate it all up!
Sam and Ellie have had the most amazing adventures on their 'sleepovers' -thanks to the parents for taking such a supportive role -the children have loved hearing about what has happened in your homes.
We have also had visits from The music workshop - who are always popular. We celebrated Chinese new year with a food tasting session and have learned about dog handling and road safety. Wow! what a busy time!
To finish off, next week we are going to join up with our Buddies in Y5 to have a Teddy Bears Picnic -we can't wait!
