Autumn in Year One!

« Autumn in Y6 | Main | Year Two »

What a busy start to the year we've had in Year 1!

So far we've been learning all about different stories, and know words like "character" and "setting" and we've done lots of dressing up to help us with our writing!

Here's kerem as a very convincing Stormtrooper...

...and Dylan dressed as a clown!
Dylan the clown!

We've also worked very hard to learn about our senses. We had a wonderful "sesnes afternoon" where we used our senses to investigate different things.

Olivia used her ears to listen to a story...

Listening carefully

Dylan didn't like the taste of lime!

Having a taste!

We've also been working very hard with our letters and sounds. Look at the sentence Thomas sounded out by himself!

using the ch sound in a word!

We are very excited about our up and coming Christmas play "The Little Red Robin" which we will be performing with Year 2. We've already excercised our vocal chords, and will be rehearsing very soon. Watch this space to find out how we'll be getting on!
