Fire Safety

Reception and Year One pupils had a very exciting visit by the local Fire Brigade on 4th June.

Great excitement with the arrival of the fire engine!

Fire fighter Ellen!

The children were taught all about safety and how to act if there was a fire at their home. They dressed up in fire fighters clothes which were very big and heavy.
Dressed and ready to go!

They were quizzed on many dangerous things in our homes and taught a rhyme to stay away from matches.

Dangers in our home

There was a big treat at the end of the visit when the fire engine pulled into the car park. The children were shown where everything is stored safely then they tried to put out imaginary fires with the very heavy hoses. The children decided at the end of the visit that being a fire fighter is hard work but they really enjoyed the visit.
