This term, year 5, 6 and selected pupils from years 3 and 4 went to the Metro Centre to do a maths trail. Mr Maths made up this Maths trail.
We went all the way round the Metro Centre and in previous years we went to Newcastle and the Quayside to do it. This year was fun and we met a magician and a man called Dr Maths. We were doing maths puzzles and the puzzle sudoku. Overall it was a very entertaining trip.
We went to northern Stage to see a Christmas Carol. It was a very good performance and one of the actress’ did well to recover when her skirt fell off. The man that played scrooge was always spitting on the stage and it didn’t look that nice from where we were sitting. I am surprised he didn’t slip. Some bits of the show were a bit scary but the scariest bit was The Ghost Of Christmas Yet To Come. It was as tall as the stage and it had two people behind it holding it up. This was a good trip and it helped us to know what we should be like when we did it ourselves. It was a good inspiration for all of year 5 and 6. It was a really fun trip. The year 7s from St Thomas More came to the Northern Stage as well.
This year we went to CLC to do animation and WW2. The first thing we had to do was put our face in a picture of evacuees. First we made the picture of ourselves black and white and then had to put it in a picture of some evacuees. We also did animation. We had to make a bomb drop on a house and make it explode. We could also put people in the house if we wanted to. When we had finished then they looked like a cartoon.
Y6 also want to send all their prayers and good wishes to our friends in Kenya. Especially to the family of Father Michael who was tragically killed in the violence there. Miss Hunt and Y6 remember him as a lovely laughing smiling priest who will be missed very, very much!
