Birtley Athletics Junior Challenge

On Saturday 9th February selected children from St Mary's travelled to Lord Lawson of Beamish School in Birtley to take part in the Birtley Athletics Junior Challenge 2008.

There were track events including over and under relays, obstacle courses and the grand prix as well as field events which included throwing and balancing challenges. Everyone loved the competition and although we were one boy and one girl short on the day the boys and girls teams finished in respectable places - especially as we were competing against harriers and running clubs as well as other schools!!

I think that our school is superb at sports is a very active school.
