We have had a very exciting time in the play school this year. All the children have had some wonderful experiences.

We have had good fun at Pre-School this year. In Autumn we collected different coloured leaves from our school field for our tree picture on the wall. We made hedgehogs from card and straws. We painted pumpkin pictures for Halloween and made white tissue paper ghosts on strings for Bonfire Night.
At Christmas time we went on a trip to Queen’s Hall Theatre at Hexham to see “The Happy Gang.? We went there on a coach with some of the Mams and Grandmas. It was a good show with lots of laughs and songs. Our little craft activities for Christmas were good fun too – making green card Christmas trees with glitter on, making bells and angel shapes out of clay, baking buns then decorating them!
We also had our own Nativity Play in our Pre-School setting in front of an audience of Mams, Dads and families. Everyone was dressed up to perform our little play with songs and carols. Afterwards we had a visit from Santa Claus! He brought little presents for everyone and told us a story.
In the winter we played with snow outside and made snowman pictures inside. We did in-door activities like cutting out and gluing and sticking. We played with blocks and Lego and dolls and prams. We made jigsaws and played with train sets.
At Easter we made Easter bunnies and baked little cakes with chocolate eggs on. We also went on a trip to Whitehouse farm at Morpeth. We went on a coach with our Mams and teachers. We saw lots of different animals at the farm – goats, pigs, chickens, hamsters, and cows. The children fed the sheep with bottles of milk!
In June we had another trip - to Saltwell Park for “Picnic in the Park? day organised by the Pre-School Learning Alliance. There were lots of activities – face-painting, sand play, drawing and painting, rides and toys – even a Magician with a magic wand who performed tricks.
It has been a busy year and the children are nearly ready to start big school in September. The children have been to the school for PE in the hall every week and they have met some of the teachers too. They also have made friends over the fence with some of the school children in the playing field. Another exciting year!

I think it should be called Homer Simpson, because he is cool, and popular name.
And he's yellow but that doesn't really make any difference!
